We identify, design, develop and communicate sustainable ideas that are good for our environment, good for the future and profitable for business. If you want to call that a mantra – go right ahead. We prefer to see it as three good reasons to contact us first.

Incidentally, just because we care about the world we live in doesn't mean we're willing to go without. We’re thinkers, not sufferers. We look to make a difference by factoring continuity and viability into every aspect of how we think, what we do and how we work.

One thing we’ve learned along the way. There’s competitive advantage to be had for those prepared to make a world of difference. And you know what? change always looks harder than it is. Design will change the world

Sir Ken Robinson, an internationally-renowned expert in the field of creativity and innovation recently defined creativity as “original ideas that add value – which come about through the interaction of different disciplinary ways of seeing things”. In other words, Robinson thinks creativity is dynamic – part instinct, part art and part science. Which is good – because it’s a huge ingredient in what we offer.

To us, this purposeful pursuit of solutions is design. It is quite literally about arriving at options and designing alternatives that will address challenges in unexpected ways and, along that way, deliver value to society and business.

Design is a world changing discipline for one vital reason. It seeks answers. It’s always constructive.

Our story

Moxie was born over 20 years ago. Our foundations are in communications design and over the last ten years we have increasingly worked with organisations in the area of sustainable development.

Through our experiences we were increasingly concerned that sustainability was presented as a risk, and a way of saving money, not as an opportunity. We believed that business was in the business of making money, not saving it, and knew there had to be a better business case.

So we researched to gain sustainable consumer and market insight and developed the tools and methodologies that assist businesses make the most of these market opportunities.

Today our work spans insight into the ethical economy, sustainable business strategy, product and service discovery and communication. Moxie has become a team of trusted, creative business partners to a variety of clients and partner organisations.

We are New Zealand based, and proud of it, but we’ve found our approach rings bells no matter who we’re working with or where they’re based. It’s as applicable in New York as it is in Newtown.
